The intersection of OSR and Sandy Point Road in west Brazos County was closed Saturday from before sunrise to just before sunset due to a hazardous materials incident.
Jason Ware of the county’s emergency management office says the material appeared to be drilling mud.
Ware said the source is still being investigated by the sheriff’s office environmental unit.
The closure started Saturday at 5 a.m. Ware said the intersection reopened around 7:45 p.m. with flaggers directing traffic.
