Grand Jury Indictment On An Arson Charge And A College Station Man Jailed For Violating Probation Now Accused Of Damaging A Texas A&M Bus
More than two years after a Bryan woman is arrested for setting fire to a U-Haul van, a Brazos County grand jury indicts her on an arson charge. 38 year old Krystal Ransome has been out of jail on bond since her arrest three months after the fire, which took place in June 2022 in the parking lot of a Bryan hotel. According to the arrest report from the Bryan fire marshal’s office, a man who rented the van said he had let Ransome stay in the vehicle after they had been arguing over relationship issues. Security video from the hotel showed Ransome damaging the van’s windshield before the fire was ignited. Ransome has been out of jail since posting a $10,000 dollar bond since her arrest in September 2022. College Station police release an arrest report last weekend of a College Station man who is accused of kicking a Texas A&M bus in August that resulted in damage estimated at $9,437.50. The CSPD arrest report says video from the bus shows when the bus stopped at Holleman South and North Dowling, the driver of a SUV got out and kicked the right panel of the bus. The driver of the SUV, who was interviewed in jail, said he did not recall what happened. Bond for 26 year old Donovan Isaac on the felony criminal mischief charge was set at $20,000 dollars. Online records show Isaac has been in jail since October 15th on a charge of violating probation for a felony family violence assault that happened in February 2022.

A Request To Convert Empty Retail Space At Northpoint Crossing To More Apartments Is Approved By The College Station City Council
Ten years after the opening of the high rise student housing and retail building at University and Texas, the College Station city council approves a request from Northpoint Crossing to turn most of the ground floor retail space into 29 more apartments. The council’s unanimous vote followed the property owner reporting the only retail occupant was a barber school. That space will remain retail, along with space that was vacated earlier this year by World of Beer. Comments from council members included observations that they have seen struggle to fill retail space in part because the Texas A&M system, which owns the land where Century Square is located, decided against connecting that retail area with Northpoint. A representative of Northpoint’s corporate owner says it is possible to return the ground floor space to retail if there is a demand, because revenue from retail tenants is higher than what is generated by rental housing. The council joined the planning and zoning commission in approving the request, which was opposed by city staff.
