Bryan Man Charged With A Home Burglary When Those Occupants Were In Jail
A Bryan man in jail almost a month on charges of three vehicle burglaries and engaging in organized criminal activity is now accused of breaking into a home occupied by a woman who was in jail and taking property belonging to a man who was also in jail. The arrest report from Bryan police says 19 year old Trelyn Nutall was identified through video taken from cameras belonging to neighbors of the victims and from pawn stores where Nutall sold a wristwatch and three pairs of Air Jordan shoes. Nutall, who has been in jail since December 5th, remains held as of January 3rd in lieu of bonds totaling $66,000 dollars. The burglary victims, 43 year old John Pilkey and 36 year old Bobbie Jones, who were jailed on multiple felony drug charges, were released after the burglaries after each posted bonds totaling $95,000 dollars.
Bryan City Council Moves Ahead With Selling $40 Million Dollars Of Bonds
The Bryan city council gets positive reviews of the city’s finances during its December meeting. The comments were associated with the council’s decision to move ahead with selling $40 million dollars in bonds to cover the costs of previously approved infrastructure projects. The city’s outside bond attorney, Steven Adams, expects seven or eight offers will be submitted later in January. Adams also said while interest rates have risen since the pandemic, the city also benefits by a strong financial rating. Adams agreed with mayor Bobby Gutierrez’s statement that the city of Bryan has “done a good job at taking care of the money here and people are looking for bonds from Bryan”. Adams added that’s been going on “for decades…so it’s been going back for a long time.” Click HERE to read and download background information from the December 10, 2024 Bryan city council meeting.
