Juvenile Charged With Deadly Conduct After August Shooting in Bryan
Bryan Police announced today that a subject has been charged in connection with a shooting that took place last month. BPD responded to the area of West 24th Street and Brazos Street around 8:30pm on August 19, 2026 after receiving multiple reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found spent shell casings in the intersection. One home and one vehicle were struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. An investigation determined that the shooting was related to a physical altercation that occurred earlier that week. Arrest warrants for two counts of Deadly Conduct were issued on a juvenile suspect who was already in the custody of the Brazos County Juvenile Detention Center. The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information or video related to this incident is asked to contact the Bryan Police Department at (979) 209-5300. . Officials say this is unrelated to the West 17th Street homicide investigation.

Northgate Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Two Guns; Four Arrested
What was going to be a routine traffic stop for a seat belt violation, led to the arrest of four men in Northgate Saturday night. College Station Police patrolling around 10:00pm saw a vehicle with four occupants, none wearing a seatbelt. When the vehicle pulled over, the officer could smell marijuana coming from the car. Police also say a Glock handgun was easily viewable in the pocket on the back of the driver’s seat and another Glock was laying on the back seat with an extended magazine. Police also found numerous rounds of ammunition wrapped in a ski mask in the glove box. The driver, 21-year-old Jaelon Lashawn Jackson, was found with a large amount of cash. He was arrested for Not Wearing a Seatbelt. He was released on a Personal Recognizance Bond. It was Jackson’s 10th time in the Brazos County Jail. Passenger #1, 21-year-old Montavian Raquon Reed, was also found with a large amount of cash. He admitted that the Glock in the back seat was his. He was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Not Wearing a Seatbelt. Reed was released on $5,000 bond. It was his 6th time in the Brazos County Jail. Passenger #2, 22-year-old Kentun Jaaron King was arrested for Not Wearing a Seatbelt and an outstanding warrant. He paid $485 in association with the warrant and was released on a Personal Recognizance Bond. It was his 7th time in the Brazos County Jail. Passenger #3, 22-year-old Christian Xavier Black was arrested for Not Wearing a Seatbelt and an outstanding warrant. He was granted a PR Bond for his seatbelt violation, but he remains jailed on $896.50 bond on the warrant for possession of Marijuana. It is his 3rd time in the Brazos County Jail.
