Inaugural Free Enterprise Day in BCS

Tomorrow is Bryan-College Station’s inaugural Free Enterprise Day.

John Cox, president of the Brazos County Young Republicans, says the free event will discuss the importance of the ability to conduct free enterprise, and it aims to educate BCS residents about the many areas on which business makes an impact.

Cox says that although most attendees will probably be students, all are invited, and several local businesses will be participating.

He says speakers include Congressman Bill Flores discussing energy, local businessman Bob Yancy discussing reasons for the rising health-care cost, and Bob Baldwin, a former Enron consultant, speaking about ethics in the marketplace.

Other participants will include certified financial planners and small business owners.

It’ll be from ten in the morning till two in room 2406 of the Texas A & M Memorial Student Center and Cox says there will be light snacks, possibly pizza.

He says BCYR hopes to make this an annual event.
