Blinn College trustees are told that Hurricane Beryl contributed to an enrollment decline during the second summer session.

Vice chancellor Becky McBride said during Tuesday’s meeting (August 20) that 434 students who dropped out after the hurricane have enrolled for fall classes.

McBride said most of the students who dropped out were from the Houston area who lost electricity and internet service.

As for fall enrollment, where classes began Wednesday (August 21), McBride said numbers are “trending well” compared with a year ago. No specific fall numbers were presented.
