COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Longtime Texas A&M University athletics administrator Kevin Hurley has been promoted to senior associate athletics director for facilities and construction, Director of Athletics Eric Hyman announced today.
Hurley, who has spent the past 21 years at Texas A&M – including the last seven as associate athletics director for facilities – is currently helping coordinate the redevelopment of Kyle Field, a $450 million project that is recognized as the largest in the history of college football. The two-phase redevelopment is scheduled to be complete for the 2015 football season.
In addition to overseeing all facility construction and maintenance for Texas A&M’s Athletics Department, Hurley serves as the sport administrator for the Aggie baseball, women’s soccer and equestrian programs.
“Kevin is truly a selfless servant for Texas A&M and has done an exceptional job in developing and maintaining our facilities, many of which are widely recognized as some of the best in the country,” Hyman said. “Once he removes his construction hard hat, I have found him to be a passionate and dedicated sport administrator for our coaches and student-athletes. Kevin is an integral reason why we are able to successfully compete on a national level.”
Hurley has overseen the construction for a long list of award-winning Texas A&M athletics facilities, including Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park, the recently completed Thomas G. Hildebrand DVM ’56 Equine Complex, Davis Football Player Development Center, expansion of the Bright Football Complex, the RC Slocum Nutrition Center, Cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie Basketball, McFerrin Athletic Center, and the Ellis Soccer Stadium expansion. Texas A&M’s newest facility, the Player Development Center – West Campus, opened its doors to student-athletes over the past few weeks.
“It is an honor to come to work each and every day at a great place like Texas A&M,” Hurley said. “I enjoy working in a nationally prominent athletics department with great people.”
Prior to his stint as associate athletics director for facilities, Hurley served at Texas A&M as an administrative assistant for men’s basketball and baseball, recruiting coordinator for basketball, an assistant athletic director for basketball operations, and an associate athletic director for internal operations.
Before coming to Texas A&M, Hurley was the home and visiting clubhouse manager for the Triple-A Omaha Royals at Rosenblatt Stadium. Hurley had been involved in the College World Series for 13 years and served as both assistant tournament director and tournament director for many NCAA Regional baseball tournaments. Hurley also served as the assistant director of championships at the Missouri Valley Conference for two years.
Hurley, a native of Billings, Montana, graduated from Creighton University in 1990 with a degree in accounting. He received a master’s of science degree in accounting from Texas A&M in 2000.
