Houston Woman Killed In Friday Crash South Of Calvert

A two car crash on Highway 6 south of Calvert late Friday afternoon killed a Houston woman.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the car driven by 18 year old Chelsea Spratlin lost control for an unknown reason, crossed the center left turn lane, and t-boned a northbound car.

Spratlin died at the scene.

The driver of the northbound car, who was not identified, was taken to a Bryan hospital with undetermined injuries.

Sgt. Jimmy Morgan said the crash, which was reported Friday at 5:30 p.m., closing both northbound and one of the southbound lanes. Troopers expected the scene to be cleared by 9 p.m.
