A Brazos County district court jury last week convicted and sentenced a Houston man for stealing $18,000 dollars of tires and wheels from the Bryan Freightliner store.

52 year old Ray Washington, who was arrested shortly after the theft in September 2010, was sentenced to three and a half years for jacking up two semis at the dealership and taking 20 mounted and four unmounted tires.

According to the arrest report, Washington was transporting the merchandise in a trailer that was stolen in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Washington was arrested in Navasota by a Grimes County deputy sheriff who stopped him for not having a tag on the trailer.

The deputy also noticed Washington was sitting in the drivers seat wearing only his boxers, because the rest of his clothes were on the floorboard drying out.
