Houston Chase Ends in Parking Garage

HOUSTON (AP) _ A driver in a white van led Houston police on a high-speed chase for nearly an hour through two counties.

Houston Police Sgt. J.A. Mora says the driver led police in circles for about 25 miles on Monday before pulling into a parking garage in north Houston.

The suspect stopped the car and ran to the rooftop, but was later surrounded by police at gunpoint. He then jumped down onto a service building, at one point hanging off a ledge.

Mora says that after the suspect jumped down nearly 30-feet, police took the him into custody.

Police say the suspect is part of an ongoing investigation by the West Side Tactical Team.
