The release of next year’s Southeastern Conference football schedule means a lot of local hotel reservations being made.
Shannon Overby, Director of the B/CS Convention and Visitors Bureau, says most hotels she spoke with were booked for the LSU and Florida games within 24 hours of the schedule being released. She said the Missouri weekend is filling up as is the home opener against McNeese State.
She also said people have even made reservations for the Arkansas game in case it ends up being played at Kyle Field isntead of Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. A&M is the home team for that game.
Overby said she is sad to leave behind relationships with other Big 12 cities, but is excited about creating new ones with SEC schools. She said their fans have a reptuation of being fanatical about their schools and it should be fun to have them in town next season.
