What was thought to be a hostage situation appears to be nothing, but still landed three people in jail Thursday night.
A caller to College Station police shortly before 7 p.m. told dispatchers he had received a text from a relative who was being held at a residence in the 900 block of Azalea Court. The third party caller told police the woman thought something bad was going to happen.
Police were unable to make contact with anyone in the home and mobilized SWAT and hostage negotiation teams as a precaution.
Authorities later learned there were likely two people hiding inside because they had warrants for their arrest.
SWAT officers entered the home shortly after 10:30 p.m. and found a man and woman hiding inside.
Troy Wayne Hattenbach, 40, and Michelle Lee Forrest, 42, were both arrested on outstanding warrants.
A third man who police interviewed as a witness was also arrested after it was learned he, too, was wanted on outstanding warrants.
