Tuesday marks the 10th Tree of Angels ceremony honoring victims of violent crime in the Brazos Valley.
Melissa Carter, the victim assistance coordinator in the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office, invites victims and families to place an angel on a tree that will be on display the rest of the month inside the courthouse.
The program, which has included lighting candles for five victims groups, will have a sixth this year to recognize law enforcement who have died in the line of duty.
Tuesday’s ceremony is open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Bryan.
WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with Melissa Carter.
