Historic Union Pacific Steam Engine Scheduled To Pass Through Brazos Valley In November

For the second time in as many years, a historic Union Pacific train engine will be traveling through the Brazos Valley.

Big Boy steam locomotive No. 4014, which is touring the UP system to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad, will be making stops in early November in Navasota, Bryan/College Station, Hearne, Jewett, and Palestine.

Last December, UP’s locomotive No. 4141 transported the body of president George H.W. Bush to his final resting place behind the Bush Library and Museum in College Station.

The current schedule for 4014 calls for a stop in Navasota the early afternoon of Friday, November 8, and spending the night in Bryan in the area of Wellborn and F&B Roads.

The current schedule for Saturday, November 9 (which is NOT a Texas A&M football game day) includes morning stops in Hearne and Jewett and an afternoon stop in Palestine.
