An ex-wife who thought she hired a hit man to kill her ex-husband, then was arrested when the hit man was a College Station police detective, has made a deal on her punishment.
35 year old Nicolette Beard of Willis could have received life in prison after a Brazos County district court jury convicted her of solicitation to commit capital murder.
Instead, she agreed to serve 15 years in exchange for giving up her right to appeal the verdict and prison sentence.
Beard was arrested in September of 2013 after making an $800 dollar down payment on the $4,000 price to have her ex killed over a child custody dispute.
