Heisman Trophy at MSC

Fans of Texas A&M football will get a chance to honor 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel and several of his award-winning teammates at a “Celebrating the 12th Man” ceremony at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Leadership Entrance of the Memorial Student Center (MSC).

Wednesday will be 12.12.12 on the calendar and a perfect time for the 12th Man recognize the accomplishments of Manziel, who was the first freshman to win the Heisman and the first Aggie to win the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, 2012 Outland Trophy winner Luke Joeckel, first-team All-American Damontre Moore and second-team All-American Jake Matthews. All four Aggies were first-team All-Southeastern Conference selections and will be present at the ceremony.

Speaking at the event will be Chairman of the Texas A&M Board of Regents Richard Box, Chancellor John Sharp, University President R. Bowen Loftin and Director of Athletics Eric Hyman.

Commemorative Johnny Manziel/Heisman Trophy posters will be available, and the 12th Man Foundation will be giving away 12th Man towels

Immediately following the short program, fans will be able to take photos with the Heisman Trophy for one hour in the MSC Flag Room. Only the trophy will be in the Flag Room; there will be no player autograph or photo opportunities after the event.

Fans are encouraged to park for free in Lots 61 and 62 at 3 p.m. Additional parking for a fee will be available in the West Campus Parking Garage. For more information on the parking plan for the event, go to www.transport.tamu.edu.
