More Health Insurance Assistance for A&M System Enrollees

Those covered by Texas A&M University System health insurance will receive additional assistance.

That was one of the reports from Monday’s Texas A&M Faculty Senate meeting.

Former speaker Walter Daugherity reported during the 2014-15 school year, the System will co-pay 80 percent after deductibles are met. That’s up from 70 percent.

And a more than seven percent increase in the state’s contribution to health insurance premiums will cover the six percent increase projected in medical costs.

Daugherity also issued a reminder to have wellness exams done and coded properly by June 30 to avoid a premium surcharge of $30 dollars a month starting this October.
