Gov. Perry Appoints Knight as Leon County District Attorney

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Hope Knight of Centerville as district attorney of Leon County for a term to expire at the 2016 general election.

Knight is an attorney in private practice, past partner of Voyles and Knight in Huntsville, and past attorney for Chargois and Herron in The Woodlands.

She is president and past vice president of the Walker County Bar Association, and a member of the State Bar of Texas, Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association and Texas and Montgomery County Criminal Defense Lawyers associations.

She is also a past volunteer for the Veterans Legal Initiative in Huntsville.

Knight received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.
