DALLAS- Texas A&M rallied from a 16-point deficit, but could not complete the comeback, falling 54-53 to SMU in a women’s basketball game at Moody Coliseum on Monday night.
The Aggies (5-2) trailed 29-13 at halftime, but closed the gap to a single point with 12.5 seconds left, but did not convert on their last possession, giving SMU (6-3) a 54-53 win.
Danni Williams led the Aggies with 21 points, with 16 of her points coming in the second half. Khaalia Hillsman added 12, and Anriel Howard had her fourth straight double double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Curtyce Knox led the Aggies with 10 assists.
The Aggies return to action on Thursday, December 8 to take on TCU at 7:30 p.m. on FS1. Texas A&M returns home on Dec. 10 to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 2 p.m.
