Brazos County Commission Approves Development Plan For A New Mobile Home Park

Brazos County commissioners give the green light to developers wanting to build a manufactured housing community south of Millican. Commissioners without public comment at their November 26th meeting, unanimously approve the infrastructure development plan for 120 manufactured homes off the southbound Highway six frontage road south of the Westward Ho exit. The Paradise Way mobile home community, according to paperwork submitted to the county, is age restricted to those 55 and older. The development is located in Navasota ISD. Water service will come from the Wellborn special utility district and electric from Mid South co-op. A construction timeline for paved streets and infrastructure was not part of the documents given to commissioners. Anyone Associated With Bryan ISD Are Reminded To Participate In Two Online Surveys

Bryan ISD students, parents, employees, and community members still have time to complete two online surveys. Director of counseling services Donna Willett told board members Monday (December 2) that it is the first time BISD asked at the same time, to complete two options for next year’s school calendar and collect opinions about how the district is performing. Willett says the survey deadline of December 10th gives administrators time to prepare calendar recommendations for board action on December 16th. Brazos County Commissioners Hear About Last Friday’s Escape From The Juvenile Detention Center

Brazos County commissioners hear during Tuesday’s meeting (December 3) meeting about last Friday’s escape of a 16 year old who was captured Monday in College Station. Juvenile services director Linda Ricketson said details will be shared after the sheriff’s office completes its investigation. Ricketson said no one was injured, and she thanked law enforcement for their work. There were no comments from commissioners or from sheriff Wayne Dicky. The director told WTAW News that this was the first escape from the current juvenile detention facility. The last one was in the former center, taking place in the late 1980’s or early 1990’s. No information has been released on how 16 year old Ar’jzion Dovontay Dumon Robertson escaped last Friday (November 29) or if anyone was injured. A news release from the sheriff’s office says Robertson was found at a College Station apartment complex near Holleman and Anderson. Robertson, who was captured following a brief foot chase, was returned to the juvenile detention center after his arrest on an escape charge. Update, November 29, 2024: The Brazos County public information office has released the identity of an escapee from the juvenile detention center. News releases say 16 year old Ar’jzion Dovontay Dumon Robertson was being held for state authorities on property crime charges when he escaped Friday morning (November 29). The county released the name and a photo with the permission of 472nd district court judge George Jerrell Wise. County officials continue their investigation of the escape. News releases have not said if anyone was injured. Original story: Someone escaped from the Brazos County juvenile detention center escaped Friday morning (November 29).
