Freeway Crash In College Station Injures One And Causes Power Outage

From College Station police:

On 07/06/18 at approximately 2118 hours (Friday night at 9:18 p.m.), a 2003 white Ford F250 pickup truck was involved in a single vehicle accident.

The truck was headed southbound on State Highway 6 when witnesses stated that it began swerving back and forth.

The truck left the roadway and entered the ditch just south of Arrington Rd.

As it crossed the grass median, the truck began to slide and then rolled.

The truck eventually came to a rest in the ditch on the west side of the southbound feeder road.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was ejected during the accident.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with incapacitating injuries.

It is unknown what caused the vehicle to begin to swerve, but no charges are expected to be filed.

A utility box was damaged during the accident and power was knocked out to several nearby businesses. College Station Utilities responded and was working to restore power.
