For the fourth time since June, a College Station man has been arrested on drug charges. It’s also the second time that officers seized several thousand dollars during a search. The latest arrest of 25 year old Johnny Roman was on Wednesday afternoon in Bryan. A Brazos County deputy constable stopped a car in a parking lot at North Bryan and 16th for a window tint violation. The car was searched after the officer smelled marijuana. According to the arrest report, that led to the discovery of more than $6,200 dollars, 11 one-pint bottles of Promethazine syrup, personal use quantities of Xanax and marijuana, an A-15 rifle loaded with 29 rounds, a 40 caliber handgun with 12 rounds, and three cell phones.
The 21st arrest of a College Station man since 2001 is for armed robberies at two convenience stores in Bryan two weeks ago. 32 year old Winston Brown Jr. was arrested by Bryan police on Wednesday. Officer Kelley McKethan says Brown is accused of taking an undisclosed amount of money at Bryan Food Mart on Old Hearne Road and the Valero at William Joel Bryan and the freeway. Brown was out on bond from an arrest in September for driving with an invalid license with 26 active suspensions.
