Fourplex Fire in West Bryan

Firefighters from Bryan and College Station were among the emergency responders to an apartment fire in west Bryan Tuesday during the noon hour.

Lt. Gerald Burnett with the Bryan Fire Marshal’s office says one of the residents was transported with burn injuries. Their status is not known. A second person living in another unit got out without being hurt. No firefighters were injured.

Burnett says two units of the fourplex were destroyed and the other two were heavily damaged. All four were occupied and Burnett says the Red Cross is assisting those residents.

Where and how the fire started remain under investigation.

The fire was at the Oak Forest Apartments on Westridge Circle, off FM 2818 between Villa Maria and Turkey Creek Roads.

Burnett says there was no fire threat to neighboring buildings in the complex, though electric service was cut for a brief period.
