Four Vehicle Crash On Highway 6 In Robertson County Killed One And Injured Three

A woman from Franklin was killed and three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a four vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon (August 14) at Highway 6 and FM 2549 between OSR and Hearne.

The department of public safety Friday morning provided what investigators know so far.

A pickup towing a trailer attempting to turn from FM 2549 to Highway 6 struck a northbound car.

That car then struck a southbound car that was in the center turn lane, then spun and was struck head on by a southbound semi.

The driver of the northbound car that was struck by the pickup was killed. She was identified as 66 year old Diana Burleson.

In the second car, the driver and a ten year old passenger sustained minor injuries, as did the driver of the semi.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.

The semi did not lose its load of crude oil. But a hazardous materials crew responded to clean up diesel fuel and engine oil spilled from the semi.

The collision caused the intersection to be blocked between 3:50 p.m. and 8:40 p.m.
