Four Vehicle Crash Near Parking Lot Leads to One Death

Thursday, 4:50 a.m. update:

Four vehicles were involved in a parking lot crash yesterday afternoon that resulted in one death.

This was by the Chik-Fil-A off Briarcrest.

The cause is still being determined, but Bryan police believe that on Briarcrest, a westbound Tahoe entered the eastbound lane and struck a Nissan Versa, killing a passenger, 86-year-old Gladys Florence of Bryan.

An eastbound Suburban was struck by one of the two cars, then the Tahoe entered the Chik-Fil-A parking lot and struck an empty Explorer.

Police have ruled out a medical episode as the cause, but all drivers and passengers were transported to St Joseph’s.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The wreck was reported shortly before 5:30 by medics who drove up to the scene.

The intersection of Briarcrest and Freedom was blocked for more than three hours.
