Four Percent Turnout For Early Voting In Brazos County

About four and a half percent of registered voters in Brazos County participated in early voting for Tuesday’s elections.

Elections administrator Trudy Hancock says almost 5,000 voted. That’s out of more than 114,000 who are registered.

Among the four contested races, the smallest turnout was Bryan’s single member district (SMD) one at two and a half percent.

The highest turnout was five percent from SMD’s three, four and five, who have only the mayor’s race.

Bryan’s SMD two and College Station’s contested races generated a four percent turnout.

A reminder that all registered voters can vote on ten proposed amendments to the state constitution.

Brazos County election officials will be taking more time to process the results. That’s due to the first major use of new voting equipment.

WTAW News will have on air and online, the results as soon as they are provided, along with interviews of the winners of the contested races.
