Four Houston Men Accused of Stealing $1 Million In Jewelry From 13 CS Homes

Four Houston men are in jail after their arrests on charges they stole more than $1 million in jewelry from 13 College Station homes during the last two months.

According to a police department memo to local judges, the group is also accused of numerous burglaries targeting College Station’s Indian and Asian communities two years ago.

In the latest cases, they are accused of striking homes on Wednesdays and Fridays between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., predominately in an area between Rock Prairie Road and William D. Fitch Parkway.

The arrests followed a high speed chase in the rain Friday morning with one of two suspect SUV’s, which ended in a crash. The second suspect vehicle, which was located in the parking lot of College Station Medical Center, contained glass from a window that was broken to gain entry into a house that morning.

According to the arrest report, investigators also had video surveillance that showed one of the SUV’s would be on constant patrol as a lookout while the other vehicle was parked near a victim’s home.

The group…three of who have ties to the South American country of Colombia…are held on bonds of $250,000 dollars each. One of them is also being held for immigration authorities.

Those who were arrested were identified as 24 year old Alex Castillo, 26 year old Carlos Cordoba, 25 year old Harold Murillo, and 33 year old Helmer Bellaga. Bellaga is also being held for immigration authorities.
