Four Arrests On Charges Of Robbing, Beating, And Taking The Clothes Off A College Station Man Near Iola

The Grimes County sheriff’s office has announced the arrests of four people…including two from Bryan…on armed robbery charges.

The group is accused of beating a man with their guns, pointing a knife at his neck, then removing his clothing.

All this took place in a pasture near Iola Monday at four in the morning during a drug deal.

And this was the week after the victim’s home in College Station was burglarized.

The suspects were found Tuesday morning in northeast Houston and arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, engaging in organized criminal activity, and unlawful restraint exposed with serious bodily injury.

They are 21 year old Sebastian Portales and 22 year old Carl Holmes Jr. of Bryan, 21 year old Chasiti Clark of Iola, and 18 year old Naomi Durfee of Livingston.

On the date of Monday, May 20th 2019 at 4:21 AM, Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 12000 Block of South Fork Lane in the Iola Community of Grimes County, Texas.

Deputies were dispatched to the above location in regards to multiple individuals involved in a physical altercation.

Upon arrival, Deputies were advised by witnesses to this altercation that all involved parties had left prior to their arrival.

Witnesses indicated that an individual who was described as the victim had been assaulted and stripped of his clothing prior to leaving the property with the aggressors of this altercation.

Sheriff’s Investigators were then notified of this matter who immediately began additional follow up investigation into this incident due to concerns for the victim’s welfare.

Investigators learned when interviewing witnesses that the victim of this incident had been brought to the pasture of the above-mentioned residence where he was intensely beaten with firearms and at one point a knife was placed to the victim’s throat and his life was threatened.

It was indicated that the victim was forcibly placed into a vehicle by his assaulters and then left the location.

Upon further investigation, Investigators were able to identify the involved parties of this altercation.

On the following date of Tuesday, May 21st 2019, Investigators located the suspects in northeast Houston (Harris County, Texas) with the assistance of the Houston Police Department Field Investigations Unit and were subsequently arrested.

Investigators learned from suspects during an interview that the victim had burglarized his home in College Station, Texas one week prior to this incident.

It was further advised that contact was made with the victim to purchase narcotics after contact was made with him via social media by other suspects involved.

It was indicated that the Victim had came to an apartment where other suspects were waiting for the victim’s arrival. It was further learned that the victim was forcibly placed into a vehicle and was driven into rural Grimes County where they demanded information of the property previously stolen and proceeded to beat the victim on the property of a private residence.

The victim was identified and located by College Station Police Department Detectives who advised he had extensive head injuries.

The following individuals were subsequently arrested and charged with the following offenses:

* Carl Ray Holmes Jr., 22 YOA of Bryan – Aggravated Robbery (F1), Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon (F2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (F1), Unlawful Restraint exposed with Serious Bodily Injury (F3).

* Sebastian Portales, 21 YOA of Bryan – Aggravated Robbery (F1), Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon (F2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (F1), Unlawful Restraint exposed with Serious Bodily Injury (F3).

* Chasiti Elizabeth Clark, 21 YOA of Iola – Aggravated Robbery (F1), Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon (F2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (F1), Unlawful Restraint exposed with Serious Bodily Injury (F3).

* Naomi Lynn Durfee, 18 YOA of Livingston – Aggravated Robbery (F1), Aggravated Assault w/ Deadly Weapon (F2), Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (F1), Unlawful Restraint exposed with Serious Bodily Injury (F3).

Attached are booking photographs of the above arrested parties with the exception of Sebastian Portales who made bond from Harris County Jail.
