Fort Hood Nurses Testify in Hasan Hearing

Nidal Hasan

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) _ Fort Hood nurses say they were giving vaccines and running medical tests for deploying soldiers when they suddenly became combat medics during last year’s shooting rampage at the Texas Army post.

The medical workers testified during a military hearing that will determined whether alleged gunman Maj. Nidal Hasan stands trial on 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.

Testimony resumes Wednesday. So far, 48 people have testified during the Article 32 hearing, including 30 soldiers wounded in the Nov. 5 shootings.

On Tuesday, nurses who worked in the building where soldiers undergo medical tests before deployments testified about slipping on blood and bullets as they rushed to help the dying and wounded.
