News release from Texas A&M Football:
WACO, Texas — Former Texas A&M offensive lineman Richmond Webb was named to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025, the organization announced Thursday. The nine-member class will be inducted on Feb. 15, 2025.
Webb, a left tackle who lettered from 1986-89, helped lead the Aggies to Southwest Conference Championships in 1986 and 1987 and to bowl games all four seasons. A 2007 inductee into the Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame, Webb was a team captain and earned All-SWC honors as a senior. After the season, Webb received the Aggie Heart Award, which is the highest honor for a football player at Texas A&M.
Following his success in Aggieland, Webb was a first-round NFL Draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in 1990 where he became a two-time All-Pro, seven-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the NFL 1990’s All-Decade Team. He protected the blind side for Dolphin quarterback Dan Marino and set a team record with 118 consecutive starts. Webb was inducted to the Miami Dolphins Ring of Honor in 2006, being the second player inducted, following the legendary Dick Anderson. Webb played 11 years for the Dolphins and finished his career playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2001 and 2002. Webb recently advanced on the NFL Hall of Fame ballot selection process as one of 50 modern-era players to remain on the 2025 ballot.
