Former Texas A&M Baseball Player Garcia Named Co-Pitcher of the Year

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Former Texas A&M student-athlete Brandyn Garcia has been named the Jamie Moyer Co-Pitcher of the Year, which honors the top arm in the Seattle Mariners minor league system.

Garcia split his 2024 campaign between the Everett AquaSox, the Mariners High-A club, and the Double-A affiliate Arkansas Travelers. The lefty started 25 of the 27 games he appeared in and compiled a 6-2 record to go along with a 2.25 ERA. In 116 innings of work, Garcia struck out 134 batters and held opponents to a .222 average.

Through two professional seasons, Garcia has registered a 6-3 record and a 2.21 ERA in 36 appearances.

The left-hander played one season for the Maroon & White in 2023, logging 27 appearances in relief. In 43.1 innings of work, Garcia struck out 56 batters for the Aggies. Following the 2023 campaign, Garcia was selected by the Mariners with the 337th pick in the 11th round of the MLB Draft.
