Former Texas A&M Agrilife Employee Accused of Stealing $24K

A former Texas A&M Agrilife Extension employee is accused of stealing more than $24,000 in fraudulent checks and unauthorized charges.

Lieutenant Allan Baron with the Texas A&M Police department says 44-year-old Lorenza Nunez of Navasota worked as a business coordinator supporting the 4H Foundation during her employment from October of 2010 until January of 2013.

Baron says investigators believe Nunez committed the thefts from July of 2011 through December of last year, and purchases included payments to Entergy Services and Amazon.com.

Baron says Nunez turned herself in on Monday, after a warrant was made for her arrest and bonded out the same day at $6,000.

He says the case has now been turned over to the Brazos County District attorney’s office.
