SAN ANTONIO (AP) _ A former San Antonio police officer has been convicted of manslaughter and aggravated assault in the 2008 traffic death of a colleague who was working an accident.
The punishment phase was scheduled to resume Tuesday for 45-year-old David Seaton. He faces up to life in prison.
Jurors on Monday convicted Seaton, who was accused of driving his squad car more than 100 mph, without using flashing emergency lights, while responding to a shoplifting call.
The patrol vehicle hit 26-year-old Officer Robert Davis, who was at the scene of an unrelated traffic accident. Another motorist was seriously injured.
