A College Station woman who admits to stealing more than $300,000 dollars from a former employer is spending parts of 92 days in the Brazos County jail.
61 year old Tina Frankel entered the plea and was sentenced on Monday (November 18) for felony theft.
She had been out on bond following her arrest in June of 2021 for taking the money between January 2014 and September 2020 by manipulating 323 checks as a bookkeeper.
There was no plea agreement on punishment that includes jail time associated with work release as a condition of seven years probation from a ten year prison sentence.
Frankel was given 90 days to pay $121,638.06 in restitution.
A spokeswoman in the district attorney’s office said the victim, who lost more than $377,000 dollars according the arrest report from the Brazos County sheriff’s office, also received partial restitution as the result of liens that were placed on property that Frankel owned.
