VICTORIA, Texas (AP) _ A former band director at Edna High School has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
Federal prosecutors say sentencing is July 6 in Victoria for Billy Forrest Marquis Jr.
Marquis, 51, was indicted in January. He pleaded guilty Monday to the possession count, plus pleaded guilty to possessing images of minors engaged in sexually-explicit conduct.
Marquis, who is free on bond, faces up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 fine.
Investigators say a May 2009 search of the educator’s home turned up a computer hard drive containing several pornographic images of children.
He worked at the Edna school district as assistant band director and head band director from 2002 until March 2009, when he resigned.
