Food Bank’s 22nd Annual Feast of Caring is Wednesday

The 22nd Annual Feast of Caring, benefitting The Brazos Valley Food Bank, is Wednesday, August 12th.

Executive Director, Theresa Mangapora, said the modest meal of beans, rice, sausage, salad, and dessert is on the menu.

“It’s supposed to a reminder to all of us that would be a feast to some in our community that don’t get to eat some of the things that most of us take for granted,” said Mangapora.

The meal is open to the public and free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

“We encourage folks to come to the event and make a donation in the amount that they would spend that day if they were to purchase their lunch somewhere,” said Mangapora.

Local celebrities, such as Texas A&M Athletic Director, Eric Hyman and Texas A&M head softball coach, Jo Evans will be serving the buffet-style meal.

It is a come and go lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at The Brazos Center.
