Follow Up: Student Shooting Leads to College Lockdown

CORSICANA, Texas (AP) _ A Navarro College student is in serious condition after authorities say he was shot multiple times during a robbery at an apartment complex near campus.

After the shooting Tuesday evening, the college was locked down. The school’s Web site said Wednesday morning that the lockdown had ended and classes would resume.

Corsicana Sgt. Ken Kirkwood said that three to four people robbed the victim and another person at gunpoint. The other person was not injured.

Jeremiah Blair, a 21-year-old student, was taken by helicopter to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, about 55 miles north of Corsicana. A hospital spokeswoman said he was in serious condition Wednesday evening.

Corsicana Assistant Police Chief Ladena Baggett says there have been no arrests.
