A Brazos County district court jury and judge takes care of one of nine criminal trials against a man from a Houston suburb who has ties to Bryan.

The district attorney’s office announces the jury found 40 year old Robert Lockett Jr. of Galena Park guilty of possessing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a Bryan Head Start facility in February 2021.

The trial judge then issued a 40 year prison sentence for what happened in February 2021.

Online court records show Lockett, who prosecutors say is a gang member, is awaiting five felony trials from arrests dating back 11 years. Those cases are on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon from an arrest in October 2021, family violence assault causing bodily injury from an arrest in April of 2016, violating a protection order twice within a 12 month period from an arrest in February 2021, and two cases involving possessing controlled substances from another arrest in February 2021 and an arrest in November 2014.

Online court records also show Lockett is awaiting trials for misdemeanor possession of marijuana following arrests in November 2013, November 2014, and October 2015.
