A fifth grade teacher fired from the Hearne school district told College Station police she deserved keeping a school issued laptop because her principal was treating her unfairly.
That led to the arrest of 27 year old Jessica Lundquist on a charge of filing a false police report.
According to the arrest report, Lundquist told officers May 31 her vehicle was burglarized and the MacBook Air was taken.
11 days later, detectives were notified by Hearne school officials Lundquist was dismissed and she wasn’t able to return the laptop because she reported it was stolen.
The following day, two officers went to Lundquist’s home. After a detective immediately saw the laptop on her coffee table, she admitted to lying and making a false report about the computer…which was purchased with grant money.
Lundquist is out of jail after posting bond.
