Fred Reed of Bryan and his daughter Mildred Reed of Bryan were killed in a one-vehicle accident about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday near the entrance of the Sanderson Farms processing plant in Bryan.
Authorities say the driver, 74-year-old Fred Reed, left the road as he drove along Shiloh Road and hit the concrete base of a light pole. Reed was pronounced dead at St. Joseph-Bryan. His passenger, 42-year-old Mildred Reed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 14-year-old boy, who authorities say is Fred Reed’s grandson and Mildred’s nephew, was in the backseat. He was injured, but his condition is not known. It is also unknown exactly what caused the accident, but the investigation continues.
