EL PASO, Texas (AP) _ A Saturday funeral is scheduled in El Paso for an employee of the U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and her husband.
Consulate employee Lesley A. Enriquez and her husband, Arthur H. Redelfs, were killed Saturday in Juarez when gunmen opened fire on their sport utility vehicle. A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in El Paso.
Redelfs’ uncle, Mike Redelfs, revealed Wednesday that the couple was expecting a baby boy when Enriquez was killed. Enriquez was four months’ pregnant when she and her husband died after driving away from a child’s birthday party. Their 7-month-old daughter, Rebecca, was found unharmed and wailing inside their bullet-riddled SUV.
The uncle said the couple “were wonderful people and loved by many. They were a young couple just beginning their lives as a family.”
