Experience B/CS Facebook Post To Visit Out Of Town Attractions Is Removed

On Monday, the local travel and tourism recruitment agency posted on its Facebook page an invitation for visitors to travel to Natural Bridge Caverns near San Antonio or the Magnolia Market in Waco. On Wednesday,

Experience Bryan/College Station (EBCS) removed the Facebook post and its link to the EBCS website.

EBCS CEO Kindra Fry tells WTAW News the invitation was created and posted by its outside advertising agency.

Fry says the intent was “to showcase to travel planners and visitors just how central BCS is located and how close we are to some very interesting and diverse attractions and icons.”

Fry says their “call to action was to attract travel planners to contact them to help them put together” what she calls a “Texas-sized itinerary” that will encourage visitors to BCS “to stay longer in BCS hotels while experiencing our community attractions and those around us.”

The Experience BCS marketing director, Ken Dobbie, says the post was removed after they received concerns that their intent of the message wasn’t getting through.

Dobbie says this can be leveraged in the future to ask travel and tourism agencies in other cities to promote day trips to BCS.
