A&M Employees Visit With The Chancellor

The second year of outsourcing on the A&M campus remains a concern for university employees.

That’s based on the volume of questions asked of Chancellor John Sharp this week.

Sharp told those attending a university staff council meeeting they should be participating in an administrative review that is underway.

Sharp says they are not looking at outsourcing transportation services, and the only other proposal under consideration is management of Easterwood Airport.

Sharp says in the first year of outsourcing facility services, the number employed by the private company has risen by 70, an increase of nearly ten percent. And a backlog of nearly 4,600 building requests was reduced to 20 in the first six months.
