This Saturday, you’re invited to the Edge Community Center to hear from local candidates, bid on some cake, and eat some delicious food.
Secretary Dede Bright says they have not held the Political Rally and Cake Auction in several years.
“We are reinvigorating a lot of the programs we used to have and what is really gratifying is how many people have contacted us and are really excited about it,” said Bright.
Candidates from all parties will be there, giving 4 to 5 minute speeches, with time for questions from the audience.
After the political rally, the cake auction begins.
“It can’t be a store bought cake, you have to make it,” said Bright who is still deciding between a white chocolate raspberry and a chocolate peanut butter cake.
Proceeds from the cake auction will benefit the Edge Community Center.
People are also welcome to bring their favorite dish for the potluck dinner. The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Center on Edge School House Road.
