DALLAS (AP) _ Most Dallas city offices will be closed Wednesday in a moneysaving move going into the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
The unpaid furlough day does not apply to emergency services.
Dallas City Manager Mary Suhm says services such as fire, police and garbage pickup will operate as normal.
Wednesday is the first of five furlough days scheduled for this fiscal year for the city of Dallas, in an overall cutback expected to save about $6 million.
