Economic Growth Continues As Fears Increase When The Growth Will End

When is the next recession going to start?

It’s on the minds of many according to the chief economist at the Texas A&M real estate research center, Jim Gaines.

In remarks during the chamber of commerce economic outlook conference, Dr. Gaines said the hard data continues to show a growing economy.

Gaines pointed to a slide in his presentation that 2018 was a very good year and there will be a slowdown in 2019, but the slowdown is in the rate of growth.

Gaines says in three months, the United States will set a record for the longest period of economic growth in the nation’s history.

Gaines says the last time he saw the odds out of Vegas, there was a 23 percent probability of a recession this year, which he says is a longshot.
