Brazos County district court criminal cases this month have included plea agreements with three people with multiple DWI convictions from as long as almost four years ago.
One involves a College Station man arrested in December 2012 for his third DWI and November 2014 for his fourth. The total punishment for 33 year old Jim Whiteman for both DWI’s and family violence assault was three years.
Another involves a driver arrested in Bryan in April 2013 for his third DWI but was not indicted until the following February. A plea agreement for 48 year old Rudy Helm, Jr. of College Station came two and a half years after his indictment. Helm was sentenced to ten years.
A Bryan man who was arrested for his third and fourth DWI’s in an eight month period will also serve ten years. 58 year old Alvin Hill was under the influence of drugs and not alcohol when he was arrested in November of 2014 and again in June of last year.
And among this month’s local drunk driving arrests is a woman spotted by motorists in the area of Wellborn and Rock Prairie Roads who was stopped by a College Station policeman in Bryan on Carter Creek Parkway by Tanglewood Park. 58 year old Grace Galvez, who according to her arrest report has two prior DWI convictions, is out of jail after posting bond.
