DWI Arrests For Local Men With Four And Three Prior Convictions

Last September, a Bryan man was freed from probation following his fourth DWI conviction that took place seven years ago. Last week, 58 year old Jose Luis Garcia was arrested for drunk driving west of downtown Bryan. According to the Bryan police arrest report, an officer followed a pickup going ten miles per hour and in the middle of a street near Neal Park. After the truck stopped, the officer got out and saw one beer bottle that was opened and another in the console. Garcia was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. He agreed to give a blood sample after he was not able to to use the machine that calculates breath samples for alcohol content. Garcia is out of jail after posting an $8,000 dollar bond.

A College Station man was arrested outside his home during the midnight hour last week for drunk driving with three prior convictions. According to the CSPD arrest report, an officer saw a pickup in the Castlegate neighborhood make two turns into the wrong lane and failed to stop at one intersection. Three blocks after the officer activated its overhead lights, the truck pulled into a driveway and the driver was stopped before he could get inside the house. 44 year old Ricky Penick Jr. is accused of failing field sobriety tests. According to online records, Penick pleaded guilty to his third DWI six years ago and was placed on seven years probation instead of serving a ten year prison sentence. He is out of jail after posting a $10,000 dollar bond.
