DWI Arrest Follows Crash That Closes Bryan Street For More Than Two Hours

Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Bryan west of the freeway was closed for more than two hours Tuesday following a one vehicle crash.

Bryan police report an eastbound pickup lost control and struck a bridge railing.

The driver was taken to the hospital out of concern of possible internal injuries from the impact of the crash.

The driver, 51 year old Ginger Pivonka of Bryan, was released from the hospital and arrested for DWI.

No one else was in the truck.

Officers responded to the crash at 11:15 a.m. BPD’s Twitter account reported the roadway was reopened at 1:42 p.m.
