Drive Thru Alcohol By The Drink Coming To College Station

College Station is getting its first business where you can drive thru and stay in your vehicle to buy a mixed drink or a cup of beer.

That’s part of a conditional use permit approved on a split vote by the city council on Monday.

Blanche Brick and Karl Mooney failed in their attempt to block alcohol sales in the drive thru. Both were not opposed to people getting out of their vehicles and going inside the store.

Mooney said the nature of the drive thru “makes driving and drinking that much more likely.”

Voting for the permit with the drive thru were Mayor Nancy Berry and councilmembers Steve Aldrich, Julie Schultz, and John Nichols.
